Learning Fun Stuff

Hi all,

I am a person who loves to learn new things, and it got me thinking about starting a web site devoted to learning stuff in a fun way. Now this is not a solicitation for a web site, I am simply asking for feedback, on the following:

1. Would you want to use a site that makes learning hard stuff fun.

2. Have any suggestions on topics, subjects

3. You already have a site like this.

Again, I am just curious on feedback.

To the moderators of this forum, topic. If this post breaks any rules of the forum, I do apologize and understand if you wish to remove my post, I just don't want to get kicked out of this awesome forum. :)

Thank you to all for any thoughts, feedback.

How would you run your site? Would it be like a wiki or blog with a panel of experts on the 'hard' topics? There are a few topics I'd be interested in, but they are diverse. Are you looking to create a K-12 educational site maybe?

Yes. Anything that facilitates learning is good.

What's the target audience? Personally, I'd like to see some stuff on physics (newtonian and quantum), calculus, biochemistry and biology. But that's just me.

well, I was thinking of a combination of things:

1. ecommerce site: selling books, videos, courses, etc, but only items that made learning a topic fun, not a boring text book. obviously, would need to have reviewers submit entries, maybe.

2. a resource: user contributed links, forum etc. no time personally for a blog, although that would be a great idea. I love the panel of experts idea!

3. as far as subjects, I am certainly open to suggestion. I would ideally like a site with as broad a range of subjects as possible, any topic, as long as (not to beat a dead horse) it can make learning the subject fun.

4. I have been compiling a list of subjects as I come across them, so thank you for the additions that I had not thought of yet, such as physics and biology.

5. So far, I have things (this is a small partial list): music, languages, finance, relationships, math, science, autos (such as buying, repairs), etc... the list goes on and on. This very site goes a very long way toward accomplishing the goal of making learning fun, which is one of the reasons I love TFProject. I guess I would just like to broaden it a little further, and take it in a slightly different direction, but certainly not detract from TF's obvious strengths.

Thanks for the ideas. keep em coming, please! :D

Speed reading, the (totally talking out my ass with only a vague memory of hearing about this) military method of training a soldier to be semi-fluent in a foreign language in six weeks, shorthand, and cooking for men.
