Make Kitten Treats!

So as I'm sure some of you know, nwlinkvxd and I got a kitten. I was just wondering if you guys knew of any good homemade healthy kitten treats recipes that we could use for good behaviour incentives (or just for fun) !

go to any store that has a garden department and get a packet of catnip seeds

grow your own catnip... and whenever you wanna watch your cat do funny things pull a little bit of the plant off and give it to your cat!

Actually, she has some little catnip toys, and I don't think she even notices the catnip. Anyway, I want a recipe for like little cookie treats for when we're trying to tell her she's done something good. I know I saw a recipe for tuna cookies...but I was wondering if anyone else had tried out a good recipe.

la petite, if you are interested in general in raising your fluffball 'naturally' and 'healthily', i strongly recommend this book (and it could very well contain treat recipes, it's got some natural cat food recipes)

The New Natural Cat
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...673044-6331863

other than that, I dunno, i just use store-bought treats.

would be interested tho, if someone posts some ideas

Nice.... here kitty kitty kitty.

No that isn't nice, I love my cat.

Tuna Cat Treats Ingredients

1/2 C Whole wheat flour
1/2 C Nonfat powdered milk
1/2 Can Tuna
1 T Vegetable oil or cod
liver oil
1 Egg beaten
1/4 C Water

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease cookie sheets with cooking spray.

In large bowl, mash the tuna into smaller pieces. Then add flour and milk. Mix well. After all is mixed pour in water and oil. Mix well again. Now, beat egg in separate dish until dish until egg gets a foamy texture. Add to mix. Mix well.

The dough mix will be sticky. Using your fingers shape dough into small bite size balls, about the size of a marble. Put balls on greased cookie sheets. Flatten with hand. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove treats from oven wait five minutes and turn treats over so other side will cook.

Bake 10 more minutes or until golden brown in color. Place treats on cookie rack to cool. Cool for 15 minutes. NEVER give hot treats to your pet.

Store in air tight container and store in fridge or cool dry place.

Very cool.

My cat Spook loves, no LOVES tuna.

She sings her heart out soon as you open a can in fact, it's hilarious. (And she's normally a silent cat.)

I feed her tuna at least once a day as opposed to cat food. I figure the tuna is better for her, and it costs just slightly more than a can of cat food that stinks so bad it's revolting.

Everytime I read this thread title, I think it says "Male Kitten Treats" and imagine a thread full of what clavus has posted. Incidentally, I once bought my cat a catnip ball and I found him an hour later having torn through the ball and munching on the catnip like it was crack. I took it away and he followed me around the house like a junkie in withdrawal for over a week. I wonder about that stuff now, but maybe my cat is just a crackhead.
