Universal Health Care: Thinkers/Philosophers
I'm trying to do a project on one of the earlier guys that wrote about health care reform and the provision of it to everyone equally. Unfortunately I have no idea who to look up. I just wanted to get some names so I can look up some books to do some research on them and read their writings. Thanks.

The only thing that comes directly to mind is Dr. Linda Peeno. There was a movie called Damaged Care loosely based on her, but she did actually work for the managed care industry and saw some nasty stuff going on, and got out of it in protest and went public.
If I come up with anything else I'll post it here...

Look up the British National Health Service, and how it was set up on the 5th July 1948 - here's a link from a Google search http://www.nhs.uk/England/AboutTheNh...efore1948.cmsx

German socialized heath care is also thought to be one of the more decent systems out there, as is Switzerland I think, you may want to look into their setups as well.
