AWOL = Nebulizer?
I was just reading about the Alcohol Without Liquid machine here...
http://www.gizmag.com/go/3763/ ...when I noticed that it looks just like my wife's nebulizer. Is this essentially the same thing and could it serve the same purpose? |

It does look and sound a lot like a nebuliser. But I'd question the sense in inhaling stuff like that. The alcohol probably does absorb nicely and go away but there's whole loads of chemicals in spirits other than alcohol and I wouldn't like to wager that they do your lungs any good at all.
But then again, people knowingly inhale all sorts of nasty things in cigarette smoke every day...

Yeah, I have to think I'd be a little bit leery of trying something like that... It just seems to me like there'd have to be SOME kind of effect it could have on your body that you wouldn't think of, plus, I'm really not THAT desperate to get drunk faster haha.
It's good to see that thre is legislation going on to test this thing and make sure it's actually safe, or there are regulations in place for it. |

/register incredulity
Oh, come ON! This has to be one of the most pointless and insane things that I've ever seen. /end incredulity I think it would be a great way to degrade your sinuses and eventually your synapses. But realistically speaking it'll be a dead duck in less than a year.

Wow... as if people's lives were fruitless enough. This has to be one of the most inappropriate uses for medicinal equipment I have ever seen. I predict it getting ripped of the market rather quick. My neighbor has one of the breathalizers built into her car because she has had so many DUIs (purpose being that she won't be able to start her vehicle with a too high BAC). I bet she'll be getting that car taken away completely.

"the Ultimate party toy" ? wtf, mate?
I don't get this...they look ridiculous, the concept is pretty stupid...What about the pleasure of drinking, feeling that light burn of tequila as it goes down your throat? I fail to see the purpose of this machine.
