Jar-Opening trick
Here's something to try before the usual techniques like running a jar under water or using a cloth for grip when you have a jar that won't open...
If you're right handed, you're probably gripping the lid with your right hand and turning it clockwise to try and get it off... The trick is this: switch hands and use your left hand on the lid. The way our hands are shaped, they are much stronger for gripping and turning something like a lid from the inside outwards. That means your 'weaker' left hand will often be able to get off a lid that you couldn't get with your right. Try it out-- you don't need anything other than your two hands... If you're left-handed, then reverse everything and consider this a tip for tightening lids. :P |

Another trick my grandma used to do was tap the rim of the jar's lid all the way around with a heavy metal object- butter knife handle or something, to loosen it up. It would be much easier to screw off then.. Thumbs up for the tip though
