cell-phone screen display issues
Hiyo
Attached is a picture of the display screen on my friends cellphone. She picked it up one day and found it similar to this, only it was mostly blue blury stuff. After a while the large orange lemon in the middle appeared. We took it to the phone dealer, they said put it in the hot water cupboard. We took it to a cellphone repair shop, they said they could fix it in an hour, but it'd cost $180 NZD. Question is, has anybody had issues like this with their cellphone, and if so, is there a more cost effective way of fixing it :(? Cheers, spotila. http://www.spotyo.orcon.net.nz/phonedead.JPG |
if there's no signs of it being dropped, the manufacturer (looks like a samsung?) will replace it for free

The screen is cracked. There's nothing you can do other than replacing it.

i don't know how things work in new zealand, but here's what i'd do if it were me...
since the phone looks like its still functional (meaning you can make and recieve calls), i'd call your cell phone service provider and sign up for insurance if you don't have it already. then in a week or so, call and make a claim on it... they'll ask you what's wrong and some other questions, then they'll send you a new phone. here they charge you a $50 deductable per replacement, but i think it would be very much worth it b/c it's obviously less than the repair fee and you get a NEW phone. hope this works for you. |
