Explain. I'm learning EBSCO and ProQuest and need to know the difference between the two.

It is actually a pretty simple idea. A primary article is an original piece of work, like a scientific study. A secondary article can be a bunch of things but essentially its a book or paper where someone has cited anothers work, like a book that has a citation of the scientific study. So, if you find a cool study in a secondary article just go to the back of it and find the source. Hope this helps

primary - original, a primary witness someone who saw it occur
secondary - someone who heard a primary witness, or read a primary article, and is telling you about it.

A review article basically summarizes and analyzes the results of a bunch of primary articles. Primary articles will be the actual details of a certain study (detailed info on experimental design, methods, results etc)
