Squeaky boots
Hi eveyrone. About two weeks ago I bought a new pair of boots, they're Rockport XCS boots. I bought them at an outdoors store, discounted from about $300 down to about $150.
<img src="http://www.shoes.com/productimages/shoes_im37661.jpg"> I've been wearing them almost every day for two weeks or so and they still have the squeak, that squeaky sound every time I move my feet. I searched around and most sites said it'll disappear after a week as the leather relaxes but it's been two weeks of almost continuous wear and they're still as squeaky as ever, it doesn't seem to have lessened. My dad thinks its the Gore-Tex lining, my mother thinks it's the leather. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the squeak? I can't even go out in public. It's getting bad, my sister now refers to me as 'Squeaks' instead of my real name! |

There are special leather softening oils out there that should help get the stiffness out faster. My dad used those type of boots for years and he had to oil every new pair. Over 30 years, he only had one pair that squeeked after he oiled them.
