Removing permanent marker from skin...

Ok I have permanent marker all over my arm now and have furiously tried soap and water for the last hour to rub it off.

Are there any househeld hints or tips to getting rid of the marker from my skin?

I'd recommend using paint thinner to get it off.

Just wash with soap well after using, as it will likely burn if left on too long.

Have you tried alcohol? If not, i guess if you just keep washing it, it will come off over time. i heard that hairspray works too, but dont take my word for it.

Windex or whiteboard cleaner

I'd recommend not passing out drunk with that set of friends again. :D

Lava Soap (if it's still available) was great for getting off pretty much anything.

Sea Breeze Astringinent is wonderful for getting permanent hair color off your skin -- might work with permanent magic marker.

Hairspray is a great trick for getting ball point pen out of cotton clothing (also is a great fly killer) not sure it'd work on permanent pen.

i've heard that toothpaste works for some fabrics, wouldn't hurt to try it out.

Totally what I was thinking!

Nail polish remover worked for my permanent marker fun times, as I didn't have any rubbing alcohol laying around.

Sandpaper? Or a more appropriate exfoliant?

I suppose waiting for the skin cells to die and flake off isn't an option? :)

Belt sander is always the last resort, but it works.
