Refrigerator problem

My basement refrigerator(beer fridge) needs to be defrosted about every 4-6 weeks. The hose on the back freezes up and stops it from working properly(cooling the unit properly). I understand it is very old, but still would like to be able to utilize it for a few more years

Is the unit frost-free in the first place? If so, check to see if the defrost timer is running. The timer shuts down the cooling compressor and energizes a resistance heating element to defrost. If the timer motor has died, the unit stays in constant cool mode. Also, is the freezer compartment fan operating at full speed? Lastly, what is the condition of the door seal? A poor door seal allows infiltration of humid outside air and will accelerate ice buildup on evaporator coils.
