Need Help With Ad Pricing in Student Directory
Howdy all,
I am the Business Manager for a small college's yearbook. We also publish a student directory early on in the year, that is distributed to all students, faculty, and staff. In the back of the student directory, we usually run a couple of pages of adds, and are paid $2500 for an ad company for putting their ads in our directory. Here's the dilemma: The ad company wont work with us anymore. So I have the task with trying to sell ad space to local businesses, and I have no idea what to charge. I cant seem to find a good answer with anyone I've talked to, or online. Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation and have some pointers about what to charge? The facts are: The page is 7.5 x 9.75 inches (divisible into eighths) The directory will be distributed to 4000+ people (1500+ who live on campus) Any advice would be appreciated. |
Call up or head down to local newspaper/magazine publisher offices and ask them to give you an idea of what you should be getting for the space.
