You say tomato...
I've been wondering where "you say tomato, I say fuck you" comes from for a while now. I've seen this quote everywhere now and it's bugging me.
Anyone have an idea?

It's a perversion of an old song that went:
"You say tomato, I say tomahto, (pronunciation is key) You say potato, I say pohtato. Tomato, tomahto Potato, pohtato Let's call the whole thing off." The idea being that even tho we have our differences, we can still be friends... awwww. Then someone fucked with it, because we live in mean times. I can't remember where the song originally came from. A play or musical I would guess. Maybe "Oaklahoma!" Little help?
