Actually, it is pure optical illusion. The pieces do not actually fit together.
The blue piece fitted onto the red piece does not actually give a straight line (the ratio of angles (3:8 and 5:13) are not the same. The picture is small enough so that the difference is not noticeable, but they do not actually fit perfectly.

lol.. then you should try out the stuff that they say. All will yield results telling you the same.
Interestingly though, recently went to a Seurat exhibit that explained similar thing, where light next to dark is ligher and such. forget what the name for it is though. |
