How should I wash this sweater?

Hey
I bought a sweater the other day, and whenever I wash it im left with a "white residue" all over it..it's really annoying. It's like fluff all over the damn sweater.

Im wondering, is there a special way I should wash/dry it so I can prevent this?
It's a 95 percent cotton sweater.

thanks for any help

what's the other 5%?

and what pricerange?

sweater quality is fairly notiseable when you wash them.

you may need to hand wash with woolite/shampoo/some gentle soap and dry flat.

I'm with SiN. I wash my sweaters, good and cheap alike on gentle cycle using Woolite or store brand. For white residue, you may want to consult Monica.com Or is that .cum?

this little product saved the life of many of my sweaters:

http://www.sweaterstone.com/

it should remove the pills you're getting.

I have a black synthetic jacket that I have the same problem with. I think it may be some kind of residue from the detergent but I don't know for sure. Have you tried to brush it out with a damp cloth?
