3/8" Swivel-head ratchet
Does anyone besides Snap-On make this type of ratchet?
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_d...4&group_ID=228 I'd like to buy one but preferably at a significantly lower price. Thanks! |
You can buy flex head ratchets at Walmart, Autozone, Sears etc. It may not look exactly like the one pictured in your link. With most the swivel or flex is part of the handle right below the head. Don't know that I've seen one exactly like the one pictured in your link at the above places but the ones they do have should suit your purpose.
Here is a Craftsman similiar to the Snapon, $20 instead of $90 something. |
I have one practically identical to the Snap-On, excepting the grip. It is an S-K brand, Model 3870.
http://www.skhandtool.com/productcat...token=89782179 Unchanged after 30+ years, but yikes! I know I paid a fraction of that-hell, that was a week's pay when I was a teenager working in the auto body shop. It is one of my favorite ratchets, though. |
Sorry, that link isn't working. Type 3870 into the search box in the upper right corner and click GO.

Thanks for the reply but I'm actually looking for swivel head ratchets not flex head. I have several flex head ratchets already, I'm just trying to add to the tool box. I tried one out at a buddy's shop and I thought it was just the coolest. I'm not sure if it can handle heavy torque but after the nut/bolt has been busted loose I'm sure it would make things a lot easier. J |

Its kinda funny cause SK has another set of tools that I've been looking for and they seem to be the only USA mfg that makes them. I'm talking about the long shank 3/8" ball hex sockets. Search for 19748 on the SK website to see them. |
Look into BluePoint. They are made by snap on and are alot cheaper (in price)

My dad just bought one just like that, I can't remember the brand but it does have a snap on brand head on it and it looks just like it and it was way lower price, but same quality. I'll ask him what brand he bought...
