Bugspray
Just a quick question on applying bugscreen.
Is it important to cover all of your skin, like a sunscreen? Or is it sufficient to put on a bit here and there, like cologne? |
I usually put more on my clothes and less on my skin. But you will need to apply it everywhere in order to keep the little buggers from attacking you.
Products with Deet work best. |
Or I've heard that if you rub yourself with a dryer sheet that works to. I don't know if the scent matters but apparently this works. I've used it before and I didn't get bit, but it was by no means a scientific test.

You want to spread it over any exposed skin, as well as your clothes. Don't use too much, but you do need to get a decent amount of coverage.
There are other ways to reduce insect threats as well. They don't like campfires, and there are also chemical devices that cause them to leave. Depends on whether or not you're stationary or mobile. |
Use products with deet, such as Off spray that's 25% deet, or outdoors backcoutry spray that's either 28.5% deet or 40% deet depending on the brand. 100% deet should be used sparingly, around the openings of cloathing and stuff, and only when absolutely necessary. With any of the bugspray, cover all areas of the skin. They say to not spray your face or neck, but to instead put some on your hands and then rub it onto your face and neck. I genarlly spray my neck and hair (yes I have been bit through the hair when not doing that) and then rub it onto my face with my hands. Also spray your cloathing, expecially around any openings where bugs could get to your skin.
