Help with LED's
I built a light using 54 of this http://www.superbrightleds.com/leds/w4_specs.htm. It's powered from a 7.2 volt power supply, with each set of two LED's wired in series. It works pretty well.
I want to try to make a bigger one, something I would love to add is the ability to dim the lights, does anyone know how to go about doing that? Also, what do you think of these LED's a white 5600 kelvin color temperature is my ultimate goal. But $1.50 a bulb is pretty pricey. -happymaan |

LED's don't dim well (or so I've heard, and at least one of those pretty graphs seems to back me up). You could simply turn on fewer LEDs for a dimmer light?

The graphs show that they will dim, you just need to be careful about it. Make sure you're only varying the voltage through a very low range, and you should be right. Just do the calculations, and bang a (small) rheostat in series with a (possibly smaller) resistor in series with the lights so that the voltage dump across the lights ranges from about 3.4-3.8V, and bob's your father's brother.
