jetted tubs and bubble bath
We just bought a new house with a jetted tub in the ensuite bathroom.
Someone told me it was not safe to use bubble bath in this sort of tub, but it's too damn hard to resist. The agitation makes a ton of bubbles:crazy: . I don't know the brand of tub but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. thanks |
Not an expert, but from what I understand you don't want air in the jet system. If you run the tub with bubble bath, you're gonna get a lot of suds and air in the pump, and it'll "run dry." It's the same reason they tell ya that putting soap in a fountain will mess it up. Again....I dunno if all this is true, but that's how I understand it.
EDIT: Ok, I looked into it. It all depends on if it's a water jet or an air jet. Apparently the water jet system is the most common, and they advise NOT to use oils and soaps in a water jet system. However, it is ok to use in an air jet system. http://www.abathroomguide.com/html/bath-tubs.htm Quote:

Yeah that's kinda what I found on google too. I now need to find out what system I have. My guess is that I will have to contact the company that built my house.
Damn, I hope can still use bubbles, the mountians of foam are awesome! |
A few hotels I've been in over the years, have had jacuzzis in them, some of them had bubbles in the bathroom for use in the tub, Mr Bubble was the bubble of choice, it's got fewer chemicals or something in it that makes it less harmful to the workings.
Check wiht the manufacturer of the bath... |
