Shit, shit, shit.
Well, today I was wrenching my old bike, and I unknowingly nudged the fuel flow switch while the tank was disconnected. By the time I looked at what was making the steady pitter patter noise, there was a 12" diameter puddle of gas on the brand new asphalt driveway. Stained.
Here's my question: Is the driveway fucked now? Or is there some way to get the gas stain out of the driveway before the old man shoots me in the face?

Spread kitty litter on the spot, scrub with a palmyra bristle broom or, failing that use a piece of 2 x 4 to work the litter into the puddle. Sweep up and wash the driveway-it should be good. Dispose of the petrol-infused litter responsibly.

The kitty litter will still adsorb some of the gas. Leave it on overnight, with something over top of it to press it down firmly. Then wash tomorrow with the garden hose and some soap.
You will in all likelihood still have a stain. Tell the old man the mailman has a leaky truck that he pulled in the driveway. |

Asphalt and gasoline don't mix well as you've probably seen by now. You could try sealing the driveway as it will probably even out the color. If it hasn't been done already it should be and it should be repeated every year or two anyway. Good luck.

wait is your driveway asphalt or concrete?
if its asphalt, the stain should go away eventually, but kitty litter probably wont help. However, if its concrete, the litter will do more than you think. My truck has leaked oil and ATF for a while and usually im good about catching the drips but when i miss i just put litter on it. A few days later, sweep the stuff up and hose it down and its good as new. also, once i had a WD-40 stain on my concrete driveway and it seemed like it just wouldnt come up. I poured rubbing acohol on it and then lit it on fire and the stain went away. just a thought if you like starting finres like i do
