Ok, for future reference, I suggest stating in one's original post 'I've already checked google, to no avail' or similar...to avoid such things.

Google is of course the first thing that comes to many minds for many things...but the readers of a post should not be expected to make any assumptions about whether or not Google's already been consulted.

:)

Hey, I'm asking you for a favor, and by favor I mean something in violation of copyright laws, and I'm arrogant enough to insult you.

Brilliant.

Almost sounds like a scavenger hunt to me. "See if you can get someone to...". Or can someone else come up with a plausible reason someone would need two Dr. Seuss texts, but not care which ones they were?

Also no offense but

a) You're asking for something that's illegal and

b) seriously, I found the full text of "The Lorax" and "Green Eggs and Ham" with the proper Google searches in about 20 minutes.

rsl12 03-25-2004 11:38 AM

good point lebell. i got the lorax on my 2nd search attempt. what's this for anyways?

agball 03-25-2004 11:42 AM

I know them by heart, from reading them a million times to the kids. Here is the Nose Book I might have forgotten a line or 2, but its from memory & the best I can do for now:

The Nose Book

Everybody Grows a Nose

I see a nose on every face,
Noses Noses Everyplace

A nose between each pair of eyes,
Noses Noses every size.

They grow on every kind of head,
they come in Blue & pink & red.

Some are very very long & some are very very strong.

A nose is useful after all, some play horns & some play ball.

A nose is good for making holes, in trees & roofs & barber poles.

But sometimes noses aren't much fun, they sniffel, they get burnt by sun.

A nose gets puched and bumped on doors & bumbed on walls & bumped on floors.

But, just suppose you had no nose,
Then you could never smell a rose,
or pie or chicken ala king, you never smell a single thing.

And one thing more suppose no nose,
where would all our glasses sit, they'ed just fall off just think of it.

and that is why each one of us grows between our eyes a nose.

agball 03-25-2004 11:44 AM

I can probably do the EYE & Tooth book of the top of my head too. Let me know if you need them & I will do it, otherwise I would rather not go through all the typing

a) I own almost the entire Dr Seuss collection, except it's a lot easier to find an online source and change the font and

b) Maybe instead of just stating that you did you could help me and teach me how or where to find it

Lebell 03-26-2004 04:15 PM

It is not surefire, but the best way to google for such text that I've found to date is to take a section of what you are looking for (NOT the title, but something from the middle), put quotes around it and put that in the google search field.
