Remove smoke odor from jacket?
I've got a jacket I wear often, and it was exposed to a cigarette smokey environment. The problem is that it's a plastic type jacket, and the wash instructions are wash with sponge. I assume this means it's not machine wash safe. So what can I do?

Get a box fan and drape the jacket over the blowing-out side of the fan. Turn the fan on low and leave overnight.
You could also try something along the lines of FeBreeze or Oust spray or some other oder-removal spray/liquid. |
Hang it outside over night or get it drycleaned. I smoke big cheap cigars all the time in this one jacket of mine and wear it to pub night all the time.
If I leave it hanging up outside overnight right before I pass out, I wake up in the morning with a sprink fresh garment. p.s. this doesn't work as well with vommit. |
Agree on Fabreeze and/or the wind. If it's plastic on the outside, yet plush or nylon on the inside turn it inside out.

Place the garment in the freezer, assuming that you own or have access to one. You may wish to wrap it in plastic first for hygene reasons. Leave it overnight and the smell should be gone.

I agree with trying Febreeze. It does wonders for the cars I've used it in.

Just leave it outside overnight...preferably over a chair or something that allows for a lot of airflow....
