Digital Camera Picture Quality
I just recieved my Sony P92 in the mail, and am trying to set the quality of the pics. Right now with the auto settings on, the size of the picture is roughly 2MBs. I have a friend with the P10 and his come out at around 5MBs. Obviously there is a big difference in quality, since his pic has so much more info. How do you setup the P92 to take a higher quality setting? I have it set to 5mp mode but that doesnt seem to make a difference. If this thread needs to be moved to a different section please do so, and I'm sorry for posting in the wrong section. I just assumed most people checkin this section out might no a little something :) Thanks for you input.

it might be listed as "picture size"
|
Or "file size".
But I believe the P2 is a 2 MP camera, while the P10 is a 5 MP camera - you'll never get the quality of pictures as your friend. That's why he paid a lot more than you! |
Yours is a 5 megapixel camera, and there is nothing wrong with your camera, the pic sizes are those of a typical 5 MP camera. However, pic sizes can vary (even if taken in the same resolution) because of lighting situations, color of the objects, etc...
One other thing that can explain the difference between your pic sizes and those of your friend's is the output format of the pics, you can be taken pictures and outputting them to a jpeg fomat and he can be outputting to a different format which is not compressed as jpeg. |
