I have heard that jagermeister contains small amounts of a mild opiate... any truth to this?

Dude, I've drank plenty of German Jager while in Germany. IT contains alcohol. nothing more nothing less. You can buy Absinthe in Germany legally. Besides, after downing a whole .7 litre bottle of the stuff within 3 hours, ( it doesn't sound like a lot of alcohol at once, but trust me, you try it) I was trashed but not opiated or whatever, only really drunk.
