Can anyone recommend a fun class?
 

I've already got a cs class, a philosophy (math based), a math class and a language class.

any fun electives out there that are not too demanding?

Find out from people what courses you "HAFTA TAKE" at your college. Here it's the Modern Architecture course, so I'm taking it to top off two CS courses, a pure math, and advanced logic. Go by professorial reputation, not class or department - university's about expanding your horizons, right?

As an engineer, I took a lot of classes over in Comparative Literature; they included musicals, folklore, and storytelling.

Try the Anatomy by Braille Class - You'll love it!

I once took a class on the history of jazz, that rocked! Also, any PE classes you can, those are fun.

there are music and film appreciation classes at most univs i think. i hear those are easy and entertaining.

I once did a totally easy subject called 'Outdoor Recreation'. Basically we did a senior first aid and a remote area first aid certificate. We do one assignment (easy) and go on a camp. I managed to con a couple of swedish girls to go camping with me and a mate. That will always make this subject one of the best subjects I ever did in my mind.

I took a History of Science and Technology class as an elective a few years back. I really, really liked it, and recommended it to all my friends.

That's a no brainer - take a physics class!

But for real, I like taking government classes, you really learn a lot of interesting things and debates are always fun. I don't know if TU is super concervative or what, but i recomend taking an introductory government class.

Yeah! those are great because sometimes they'll give you EC if you go to the local porn shop and take notes on what you find :D

One word: Golf.

I took an elective Physics class that was a writing component titled Pseudo Science. I believe the lecturer was Dr. Coker. I think he is still at UT and teaches this class off and on. It is an excellent eye-opening experience on debunking hoaxes, myths and legends. It was not necessarily an easy class but one that affected my worldview and way of thinking. I cannot recommend it enough.

Actually I took a cooking elective while in school and to this day have not regretted it because its a class that teaches you a skill you will certainly need once you graduate.... Just an idea...

I find law to be fun :P

ceramics was a blast, I want to take it again.

If Lamphear's still there take his Military History courses, likewise for Gwyn Morgan's Roman Emporers.

Take Death from Twombly and Trimble's writing courses.

Take anything from Cafarelli (in Math) - you're guaranteed an A if its an udergrad course and seeing the maestro (Luis "Mathematical Fists of Fury" Cafarelli) is awe inspiring.

Take Topology (1 or 2) from Starbird himself. Likewise get a Vick and a Guy class. Hamrick is an excellent Engr. Calc. teacher.

If Kermit is still there take his Rap & Rhetoric class. If McGlade is there take his Economics of Art course - or any S. Amer. eco. course he's giving (he is THE expert). Take any computational eco. from Kendrick - also considered "the best". (For that matter learn your basic Freeman models from Freeman and your Smith models from Smith).

You missed your chance for Esdjer Dijkstra - tough luck; Richards is good for Haskell. Take the course on Beer.

Take Rory Coker's "Pseudoscience" - remember to show up (you pass or fail on attendance alone). Take biochem from Brent Iverson (if you're Nat. Sci. try to get into Dean's Scholars for the seminars).

Take intro. to philosophy from THE Bob Solomon - make sure to get pizza/beer et al. =) from him at the end of the year.

p.s. if you can stomach it and have the time Stroustrup is teaching at TAMU about 90 min. up the road from you.

I took a meteorology course that was very educational and a lot of fun (a lot of work, too).

It's kind of cool to watch the TV weatherman and know right away if he knows what he's talking about.
