I would have to say that as a lefty I was never very fast at cursive writing. Once I got to high school the teachers didn't care anymore so I started printing again. Now my print is much faster than cursive.
It's gotten to the point that the only thing I can do in cursive is my signature, and it's full of spikes and straight lines more reminiscent of print than the smooth flow of true cursive.
