Perpetual Motion?
Any ideas for fake but believable perpetual motion machines?

Hide the power cord under the rug ;)

Magnet. Place a magnet on a thread about 5 inches long, supported by small post. Directly under place a magnet with the same force or pole (secured). The one on top with kinda of spin around and around and around and around....

In this forum we obey the laws of thermodynamics!

I hide the power cord, otherwise the only way to make perpetual motion is to put a pendulum in a vacuum with no drag, nothing but gravity, an unstretchable string, and a constant weight, and then hope for the best.

I was waiting for this to pop up...:D Glad to see I'm not the only one with stuff like this running through their brains...:D |
um a magnet, a super conductor and liquid nitrogen, its not perfect but its close, cool the super conductor with the liquid nitrogen and place the magnet on it, it will float, the magnet creates an electric feild in the superconductor and repells the magnet until it heats up
the cooler the super conductor is the lower the resistance alowing it to happen. |
1. Toast always lands buttter side down.
2. Cats always land on their feet. 3. A spinning magnet can generate elctricity. Tape a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat. Tape two magnets on either side of the cat. Drop it from a height. It will get confused and start spinnning rapidly, inches above the ground. Surround the cat with a loop of copper wire. Perpetual motion! Free electricty! |
