The first one with the cards is pretty stupid. It says it removes the card you chose from the list, but in reality it just changes all the cards. You might not notice at first, because the cards are all the same numbers, just of difference suits.

not very interesting phychological experiments might have been a better title for this thread.

I once read about an expiriment involving lab rats and neural implants... apparently they we able to get the rat to control a mouse on the computer using its brain....... i'm not implying anything.... I think

I thought I was completely sober, until I realized I was too drunk to take any of those tests. So in that sense I guess it is sort of an interesting psychological experiment.

Crazy

that was a rather silly test, a load of random links, then a card trick which a 5 yr old could figure out.

if i was stoned id probably be amazed.

feather - mice controlling mice?

The Stanford Prison Experiment is actually a case study in school of what NOT to do, so I'm afraid we wont be seeing any other useful experiments like that one.

Numist, would you please elaborate on that? I'd like to hear what (specifically) they did wrong.
(Note: I have practically no psych or formal research training, so please use small words )

Wow the movie of the Stanford Prision Experiment is really disturbing, especially the part with the bad guard saying that he was running his own little experiment, that just always disturbed me.

the card trick one maybe could have fooled someone who wasn't paying attention, or someone who "wants to believe" i guess i wasn't impressed coz i was skeptical right off the bat..or maybe it was just too obvious???

the stanford prison experiment is a classic, thanks for linking that and if anyone has never heard of it, i encourage you to read through the story!!

_*x_ Thanks for posting the Stanford Prison experiment. Great site, it takes you through the details of the experiment quite well without giving you too much scientific lingo.

Well, I think it is all pretty cool. Some people get things quickly but most don't, so they are fun to use. Magicians get us every day with this stuff, as do all the marketing companies!!
