Does anyone have one of these and if so does it work? What kind of cable does it work best with? Digital? Standard? ARe they legal? I guess that i am cable box retarded.

certain descramblers aka black boxes work. i know someone who has one and works perfectly. they are indeed illegal as Munku stated. the black boxes that are well known are used with the regular cable, but i do know of a way to descramble the digital signal as well.

I have a question that I think is relevant. They added additional cable wiring to hook the internet upstairs at my house, I think they split the wire at the box outside my house. Anyways they did that about a year or two ago and recently (after the merger by Comcast) they came out and though we were stealing cable because the wire that went upstairs was missing some kind of filter, im guessing, that they had to add. Anyone have any idea what this is? I think they added it to the line right before it connected to the cable modem.
