Help with Presidency class (Lowi, Jones, Barber, Klein)
Advanced Notice: I am asking for help with some homework here. Please do not just outright write an answer for me if you can help it so much as point me in the right direction with an outline of the author and their theories it would help clarify things for me.
So I have all sorts of papers do for my class on the presidency. I have read all of the lit. but some of it is just darned unclear. If anyone can give me some help about what Lowi means by the personal president and how it developed, how Jones view of presidential power is different than Lowi's, how Barber's concept of the prepresidential attitudes/activity leading to presidential performance can help us understand the presidency, and what Klein means when he describes Clinton as a larger than life president with mythic weaknesses , then it would be greatly appreciated. In case it helps, I am referring to: Theodore Lowi, The Personal President Charles O. Jones, The Presidency in a Seperated System James Barber, The Presidential Character Joe Klein, The Natural
