Stuffy Nose
I have a stuffy nose - a combination of a cold, allergies, and a sinus infection. I'm actually getting better thanks to antibiotics, but has anyone heard of any of those do-it-at-home remedy deals that you'd think would never work. Some lady told me that rubbing mayo on my calfs would rid me of my stuffy nose, but I had to do it every ten minutes until it wore off. She also suggested lemon juice on my shins. No joke. I tried the mayo on my calfs once...and then decided to do it every ten minutes would mean I'd have less mayo for my turkey sandwhiches and quit.
So, self-help remedies? Any that work? Especially for a clogged nose? On an unrelated note, Afrin is a miracle drug. |

You only think the antibiotics are helping. The common cold is caused by a virus, while antibiotics only work on bacterial infections. Sure - if you truly have a sinus infection, the antibiotics might be helping - but they'll do nothing for a cold or allergies.
Get lots of rest - you'll feel better in 7-10 days. Good luck - currently, I'm in the middle of day 2 of a bad cold .
