I have a buddy whose dad owns a gas station and it has a gas station. Anyways, I know his son's code so I can get free washes whenever I want. But it does print out inside the store...... They might just turn you in someday for stealing

Update:

I told my friend about the trick and he almost got caught....well he bought some some gas and decided to get a car wash. Well he went and tried punching the code in but it wouldn't work....then two guys came storming out and started to chew his ass about guessing codes. But since he did have the slip they left.

All you do on this one is get a speaker (or any other large magnet) and hold it up where you put the change in. Tap it on the machine and it will give you 1 credit. Just tap away and you get your free car wash.

Although for some reason or another this won't work at some car washes.
now this one i have to try...i only wonder if it also works with soda machines and snack machines. if it does....very sweet indeed.

i've been putting of getting my car washed for a week, and tomorrow this will give me the incentive to at least give the free carwash i shot. if not...i'll just have to pay for it.

Update: Tried it at a different town than my friends......well i tried punching the code in again and again and eventually a guy started to walk up to the car wash....so while he was walking i pretended to have troubles sticking a $5 bill in the slot...well it took it and i chose a the basic was and drove in. Right as he was about to walk up to my car the car wash started. (so he didnt' walk into the car wash). By that time I was nervous as shit...and it looked like he wrote my license plate number down (oh well....nothing he can really do about it) and then half way through the car wash (after the rinse of course) i speed off and hopped on the interstate.

Theft is theft. It isn't right just because someone isn't looking over your shoulder.

If you can afford a car, you can afford the wash (or use a bucket). If you can't, use public transportation or walk. (Same for insurance)

Where have our morals gone?

How about this one, i have to work 2 hours at a minimum wage job, (about all you can get in college/hs) to pay for that 9 dollar car wash. So, what happened to pricing shit at a reasonable level. I have to do whatever i can to save money, just to survive in this shithole economy and overpriced nation. I mean honestly, stuff is simply put...TO FUCKING EXPENSIVE. So, if i can take advantage of a company, i will, and i wont lose a wink of sleep over it.

Yeah I can't really afford a car wash either. And the thing with this trick is it's not like everyone is doing it or that they are losing alot of money, granted they are losing money but they aren't gonna go broke.....it's a glitch...not my fault for them not fixing it. If you got it flaunt it.

My cheap car wash trick is to wait until it is raining, then go to the quarter carwash places with a wet car and use the scrub brush which usually still has plenty of soap in it. Then I rinse in the rain. Gets rid of all the caked on dirt for free.

Are you sure that this "Guessing the Code" isn't just the clerk inside getting tired of hearing the "error beep" and hitting the "start wash" button so that you stop making that annoying beeping sound?

I had a friend that worked at a shell station with a wash and that's what he did if the person got the code wrong more than three times.

With respect, theft is theft. Just because you're hard done by, doesn't make it ok. I hope people don't teach this kind of behavior to their kids.
*look Johny, see how I can rip off this company, it's ok, because they charge a lot and I don't make much*
If you can't afford it, use a bucket and sponge.

After reading this thread im tempted to go to the car wash and try this out however im not a good actor if someone came up to me and questioned me ide totally crack haha. Honestly, I dont think the workers even care they are there for their crappy wage and they arent really losing any money over it and its pretty tough for the company to track the bug if they havnt fixed it already I bet. Oh, well funny thing cept for the fact that everything is done by a man not a machine here ;/

I had a friend that worked at a shell station with a wash and that's what he did if the person got the code wrong more than three times.
This what I think is happening. Seems risky to do often. To eliminate some of the risk, I would:

1. buy a legitimate car wash and save the receipt
2. use the hack that you described, keeping the receipt in case you get questioned.

If you get busted, just show the paid car wash receipt and act like you are too stupid to figure out the machine.

On a side note, here is a carwash-related scam that I wondered if it would work. At this gas station that I go to, the pump askes you if you want a car wash after you fill up and if you say yes, it adds it to your credit card at the pump and prints out a receipt. With a fill-up, you save $1 on a car wash. i.e a $5 wash costs you $4.

When I get to the car wash and enter the code, the display says "Credit $5" then you press start to procede.

I wonder if I can "cash out" at this point and get $5 in change (making $1 on my original investment)?

Has anybody tried this?
