Painting
15 x 15 room....want to put two coats...how much paint????
|
Two gallons should be more than enough, but it all depends on a few factors.
Are the walls primed? New drywall will suck up the paint. Are you covering a dark color with a lighter one? This will require more paint. What color are you using? Reds have a lot of translucent pigment, and therefore they don't cover well. I used an entire gallon of red paint for a small powder room. Get two gallons...that should be enough, and you'll have enough left over for touchups in the future. |
15 X 8 = 120 sq feet per wall
120 X 4 = 480 sq feet for the room minus windows and doors. 480 x 2 coats = 960 sq feet Not including ceiling.... (walls only) Paint manufactures list approx coverage per gallon/quart on the product. |
thanks...
