sitting in a chair backwards
remember as a teen, although i still do it many times, and sitting in a chair backwards with your legs spread around the back of the chair? i heard there was a term for this, and was wondering if any of you fine people knew what it was. i did a search on it, and turned up nothing. thanks
all I know about this is that A.C. Slater did it all the time

straddle? straddling a chair? i'm guessing cuz it's how you describe sex positions of the same way :p
Yeah, AC Slater totally made it famous.
He also made fro mullets or 'frullets' very fashionable. |
The word for this is... annoying!
:) Mr Mephisto |
Why does my brain hurt at the mention of A.C. Slater?
because you just watched a re-run of "Saved By The Bell" on UPN, and realized how absolutely awful that show really was!

can't we just call it a "Slater" then?;) |
Didn't one or both of the dudes in "Miami Vice" sit like that all the time? Don Johnson, I think, did it. That was before Saved by the Bell I reckon...
"slatering" the chair? Sounds reasonable.
And frollets are teh devil. |
tony danza did it on the Who's the Boss all the time, too
so, why not mix 'slater' and 'danza' and call it a "Stanza"?
Saved by the Bell rocked. Remember watching it everyday after school.
You know whats really really horrible, its still on the air, reruns yeah, but it still on, after school. So I have to deal with my lil sister comeing home, and watching it... and its horrible because I'm walking through the family room, glance at the tv and say to myself "yeha, that was a good episode... the one where they take the pictures of the girls swimming for the calender...." and I want to shoot myself~~~~~~~~~~~
"Rodge" used to do it on "What's Happenin'" back in the seventies....long before ole AC Slater.
How old are you people? :) |
You beat me to it j8ear! I loved "What's Happenin."
I've never understood why people even do that o_O sitting on a chair backwards is lame :<

You can rise from this sitting posion faster than the conventional position. The back of the chair becomes a small shield between you and the person in front of you. Just doing it to look cool is naff though. |
who the hell is AC Slater
I've got nothing.
AC Slater is the tough guy from Saved By the Bell.
I remember when my older syblings decided SBTB wasnt cool anymore and I told all my friends it sucked and thought I was hot shit for knowing. This chair technique is now best used as a joke with your firends. IE. 1. Enter restuarant. 2. Get booth 3. wait will everyone else sits 4. grab a chair and do the asshole backwards sit 5. someone will call you Slater, that is your cue to say "shut the fuck up screech" and smack him. |
Married With Children > Save by the bell. It's an obvious fact.
the A C slater position sounds good i guess or the A C slater manouver
Definately straddling ...

semi-off topic but I had actually gone though all of the 90's without seeing Saved By the Bell and was fairly proud of that. Then my best friend made me watch it with her last week on UPN reruns. argh...
I feel so unclean! :D |

WOW, I had forgotten that Tony Danza was on Taxi. He sucked in that too.
Didn't Mr. A C Slater (Mario Lopez) go on to play Greg Louganis (sp) in a "made for tv" biopic a few years back?
Yeah he did. Sometimes I do the whole "What's up guys?!" and then the AC Slater sit-down, it's pretty funny.
A C Slater also went on to star/appear in such big time productions as Pet Star, and Hollywood Squares!
:)
slater and zack... hahahaha nice one guys |
