New breather for my truck
Just a quick question...
I'm going to put a K&N Breather on my 94 F-150 (5.0L) this weekend. Is there any problems/hints that I should know about before I get started? Also what is a realistic power increase that I can expect? Thanks. Lyman |
Oops...almost forgot...I've been looking online, but I think I'll buy the kit at Auto Zone. Any suggestions?

Heya 123,
From what I understand, K&N has good directions and manuals, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. I've never put much faith in the stats they throw out regarding power increases. I try to judge from the seat of my pants. :P If you have any trouble and don't get more replies in this thread, you might want to try the Tilted Motors section. Other gearheads might not make their way to this forum. :P Good luck. |
From my experience, while KN has a very good quality filter, there is no real power increase over any other high quality filter.

A K&N filter doesn't provide any benefit except at near redline RPMs. It also lets through more and larger particles.
