How to make a cushy sex paradise out of a full-size bed?

So I recently got a full-size bed. It's time to make it into a sexy sex lair that the womens cannot deny.

The biggest stipulation here is price. I'm a broke-ass college student, so no suggestions like "silk sheets".

What kind of bed accessories and pillows and what-not should I be looking at?

BuDDaH 07-22-2003 06:49 PM

Just lie in it, naked.
That works for me...

Halx 07-22-2003 06:50 PM

if no silk sheets then get high thread count cotton sheets (260 or 300) they are soft and silky and smooth. I have them on my bed.

Antagony 07-22-2003 08:45 PM

Cool, I'll look for that, Hal.

Anyone have suggestions in what to look for in a good pillow? Are down pillows good?

numist 07-22-2003 08:57 PM

down are great.... overstuffed is better...
and the more the merrier...

Get cheap mirror tiles, stick 'em on the ceiling: voilą! They all love it, etc. Just make sure you stick them on properly...
I sometimes think my wife would be most impressed with an electric drawer at the side of the bed, which produces a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea at the press of a button. You'd have to ask Jimmy Saville about the installation, mind.
I personally like glow stars (in the proper constellations, of course), but can't vouch for this doing anything to improve your love life!

Then of course you could borrow an overhead projector and shine a choice image on the wall - crashing waves, train going into tunnel, rocket lifting-off, etc - and trace over the projected image directly onto the wall with a pencil. Then get your paints out and basically colour it in. They'll be queuing in your kitchen.

Right, I'll shut up:)

Silk sheets suck anyway. Might feel good when you're sleeping, but there's no friction when needed. You get no purchase on them when puttin' the stones to your lady.

Candles on the side table.

magnum155 07-23-2003 11:30 AM

silk sheets are the dumbest thing i ever bought for my bed....
they even make it hard to make the bed in the mornings.

Candles on both sides of the bed seems to impress the girls, but the one thing that i've found takes away that last little resistance, is the room being clean and smelling nice.
Not perfume nice, but clean nice. There is a difference.
A clean bathroom helps to lower her resistance too.
They get kinda funny about that crap....

Luck, Frank

Get a down bedcover. You can probably find one for about seventy dollars, and they are unbelievably soft. It will make your bed feel like a real featherbed.

For softness, you can't go wrong with jersey sheets.

trialzin 07-24-2003 03:37 AM

Yes keep it clean, somtimes your judeged by how you keep your residence, if its dirty then she make think you keep your body is the same way. I keep my entire apartment spotless. I have done many houce calls to fix PCs and trust me some of the crap I walk into makes me wonder how people live like that. This once place was so grungy I had to go home after the repair change my clothes and have a shower I felt so icky after I left.

Antagony 07-24-2003 06:34 AM

Good ideas! Keep `em coming! ;)

Pillows are a personal preference

Some like em thin and fluffy, some like em thick and hard. Seriously... nothing is worse then going not being able to sleep for a whole night because your (b/g)/f bed isn't properly equipped. So have some variety on hand. Big pillows tiny pillows, hard pillows soft pillows. For you non math folks that's 8 different types. Down is good, some people are allergic to it. Hypo allergenic alternatives to down exist, and they have their own unique feel.

Clean is key, don't leave smelly laundry around, do it ASAP, otherwise keep it in a bag so it smells less (with that odor absorbing baking stuff if yah have tah). Vacuuming and getting rid of all decaying organic matter helps alot, light scent is nice. If you don't vacuum your room will eventually get that lived in smell no matter what you do...

High thread count, all the way.

I stayed at a Ritz-Carlton hotel once and I loved their pillows so much I bought one - you can buy them at their web site, but they're Pacific Coast and you can pick them up elsewhere. They also had a down bedcover, and a down comforter. I could have just stayed in bed all day. Better still if I'd had Ratbastid there with me :)

Chenille throw pillows are cheap and add some texture and they feel very sensual.

Other stuff around the bed is important, too, like candles and such.

Back when I was in the game I found it very effective to have glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. You have to turn out the lights to get the effect, and the effect is wonderfully romantic. Several mentioned cleanliness. On my view you do need to avoid disgusting your guests, but looking like you good use a little TLC is not a bad thing. Fine line to tred.

Cynthetiq 07-25-2003 12:44 PM

jersey sheets are a great suggesting that someone already mentioned...

here's what I did....

I went to a nice store, looked at the display and bought all the pieces in that display.... I ended up with like 6 pillows (which I mixed and matched down, sobakawa, and foam, that way it's anyone's preference) a duvet cover, a down comforter, bedskirt, jersey cotton sheets. :) It did set me back a bit... but I've had all that for over 6 years now.... and it's as inviting to stay in bed as it ever was...

SiN 07-25-2003 01:13 PM

Satin pillowcases :)

they add enough of that sensual satin feel...

..yet are very practical...

not annoying like full sheets would be..

..and keep your girlie's hair from being too messy in the morning ;)

YeS!!@!

i've always loved those..used to have a bunch. :)

Antagony 07-25-2003 04:50 PM

Yesss, this thread is turning out nicely :)

I got some jersey knit action. Next I think I'll get a down bedcover (when I get paid).

But a new question :: Where are some good places to get these things?

PoteMatic 07-26-2003 01:37 AM

Feather bed all the way dude i just got one and it makes you bed like 20x more comfortable... I have jersey sheets/pillow covers on my down pillows and i love um...

daoist 07-27-2003 12:50 AM

any sheets and bedding will do as long as your bed's made, the sheets are clean, and your room is not a pig stye.

once you get to the "let's get in bed" stage you're already home-free; the wrong sheets aren't going to send any non-crazy woman packing.

Antagony 07-28-2003 09:55 PM

Got the jersey knit sheets, they are totally awesome. Also got a down pillow which I am satisfied with.

I'll probably get a down bedcover when I receive my next paycheck. (And maybe another down pillow)

My vote is on a ceiling mounted CD skull that matches the one near the kitchen. And don't forget the friendly label.

I recommend a lamp or two with some lower wattage bulbs for some mood lighting. Candles lack something to be desired for illumination, and they're a fire hazard. The last thing you want is all this great cotton/feather/vinyl stuff catching on fire. So personally, I wouldn't keep them too close.

Aside from that, try bolting some chains and shackles to the floor. It's small touches like that that really bring the dungeon to the bedroom.

cpomdima 08-04-2003 07:16 PM

I second the featherbed. They are basically a sack the size of your bed you put your sheets over. I have used one for like 2 years and I don't know how anyone can go without it. Besides making a sex paradise you will recieve serious sleep benefits from one of these things. You will toss and turn less and you will wake up feeling like you slept a few hours longer than you did. It is one of the greatest things ever invented.

briana 08-27-2003 02:21 AM

not one myself for oversized pillows and satin sheets but I throw them on if I'll have someone over

sambocom 08-27-2003 05:17 PM

overstock.com usually has some killer deals on down comforters. compare type of down, fill count, and something called 'baffling'

Blue 09-01-2003 12:50 PM

mirror

on

ceiling.

that is all :p

telekinetic2 09-03-2003 10:24 PM

Pillows are key...I'm a huge fan of king-sized pillows (about 50% longer than normal), espcially if i'm sharing a bed....they're long enough that two can use it while cuddling comfortably , rather than having to either cram and use a standard size, or use two distinct ones and be seperated all night.

A nice down comforter is a huge plus as well, but I agree with high-thread-count cotton over silk.

And if you have an overstuffed king-sized down pillow in a satin pillow case or two waiting for them, you are God.

Booboo 09-04-2003 10:03 PM

I just got my sheets and stuff for my dorm room.. and I've never heard of the fabric before but they are really really nice.. smooth and soft. they are 100% Modal whatever the hell that is.. unless thats like spanish for cotton lol. And down comforters are awsome. Not sure how much featherbeds are, but you could at least get a similar thing thats not quite as thick and they are pretty cheap and nice.. not sure what they are called. kinda like the egg crate things but more like a thin matress. anyway you get the idea. Find a bed bath & beyond and you can take a look at tons of different stuff
