Soda Fountain
Slashdot showed a site describing how to make a soda fountain and I thought I would pass it on.

Neat. I thought only couches, big screen TVs and leased cars were 'rent to own.' Thanks for sharing.

I'd rather have a slurpee machine

I used to install those, and bar guns for a Coke distributer. That article brought back the memories. I always thought that a nice little one with a couple of flavours would be nice at home.
|
Man if i could retrofit one of those to make mixed drinks like captain and coke. Or Seven up and apple pucker it would be pure bliss.
|
Having worked at a company that sold a post-mix system, this website is pretty good. The only caution that I give is to check for leaks on all lines. CO2 are hard to find, syrup is not a nice clean up, and water just leaves everything wet. Depending on the flavor, syrup is hard to clean up.

Wow, nifty who you find on tilted forum project. Thanks for the warning gcoxon.

Ill have to start saving my pennies for one of these babies. after getting it all calibrated, i would probably spend a minute or so with my head under the nozzle vending ice cold Dr. Pepper straight into my mouth. closest to a Dr. Pepper I.V. that ill ever get!
|
how do you hook up a bar gun to that then, or how do you have the same set up with just a bar gun?
|
Wow very cool! Thanks for the post.
|
From reading the site, it seems that the bar gun gets hooked up the same way as the fountain heads, except the 6 or 10 or 15 heads are built into the gun instead of separate on the soda machine
