Just thought I would share this:

Very cool. I just downloaded and installed celestia yesterday, and was going to suggest it here when I saw it mentioned above. It's really cool too.

The planets never truly align, they only appear very close together in the sky. Not all the planets lie together on the same plane in the solar system so they'd never really be aligned anyways. And the closest a few of them have ever appeared somewhat close together in the sky was only in a field of about 15degrees I think or something.
