ok.. its like a talk radio show, and the guy is listening, and the radio guy (would it still be a dj if they aren't playing music?) says they are going to call Sandy Blahblahblah (the man in the car's wife) when they call, a man answers the phone. THIS makes the guy in the car thinkhis wife is having an affair.

Are we going to reveal the answer of questions that everyone has given up on?
If so, I'd like to hear the answer to obediah's riddle about the stars on the forehead.

no, my riddle actually has an answer.

lets see, was the affair revealed somehow because the dj was not the usual one? or because maybe his wife is the dj and she told him she was goin to work but it wasnt her?

I think Brinlynoya has it close enough - well done!:
He's listening to a radio competition; he recognises his home number as 'the winner' and a man answers the phone.

obediah - was my answer to the star one any good?

Shpoop I thought of explodable, but the word was meant to describe the scene after the explosion, whereas explodable (to me) describes the action as opposed to the after-effects. Perhaps I'm just being a pedant....

mathmo - is it that they all contain pairs of letters adjacent in the alphabet?

edit: sorry, triplets of adjacent letters!

I would have tried to be subtle and add some more but I can't think of any.

edit2: I guess hijack?

Well done Cliche, they all contain triplets of adjacent letters. You could add Afghan, somnolent, ..

It seems most other triplets don't really give any solutions.

ok... this one might piss people off because i dont exactly know the answer

What two signs are always found side-by-side in libraries?

and it isnt closed and open
people have said to think literally and think very broadly on the meaning of signs.
some people have said that you dont need to concentrate on the word libraries, and others have said that it wont work with one libary, but you need multiple libraries

edit: ohh - you mean that a lot of triplets don't contain vowels?

Shpoop - "books in" and "books out"?

edit: I'm sat in the hospital library at the moment, looking around frantically... I think people are looking at me funny

edit2: I think I might have got it! And if so... you do need to focus on the word. And it only works with multiple libraries.

cliche I mean triplets like bcd, cde, xyz. You can't find words with those triplets in, unlike lmn, nop, rst and so on. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Edit: Ak, I see you have just edited your post, but it's not quite what I meant.

You are going in the right direction on the bull story. Think carefully about the phrasing of the second question "What word describes the scene after the explosion?" Another 24 hours, then I'll give you the ultimate hint.

Sign definition:
1. anything that indicates the presence or existence of a fact, event, quality, or tendency; indicator; indication.
2. conventional mark or symbol that stands for a word or for the thing or process signified by the word.
3. a printed direction, advertisement, warning, or the like, usu. mounted on a surface or on an upright support.
4. a gesture or expression intended to communicate a meaning; signal.
5. something that indicates a future event or condition.
6. a remaining indication; trace.

Whew, who knew? Hope this helps someone else, I haven't got a clue.

Nice one, Nefir

Mathmo, my guess is that it's an two-hour-long pre-recorded program, which is meant to start at half past the hour and finish half past the hour, with 2 news breaks (on the hour) in the middle.
This radio station started the program on the hour, and therefore only had one news break

(I know, it's a lot of typing to get the answer completely wrong, but it's worth a shot :P )

The record was supposed to go for a half hour. But since the record (remember those days) was played at the wrong speed. Instead of the correct 33 1/3rpm it was played at 45rpm.
