The riddle's been posed before, colourmerish. Bono and Edge over, Edge back Adam and Larry over, Bono back Bono and Edge over, and off to the concert. Props to Sleepyjack for getting it the first time 'round As for Blistex's riddle, the plane is flying upside down. |

Think you're funny, do you?
the real answer is a pillow. |
Good job Shpoop.
"Who makes it has no need of it. Who buys it has no use for it. Who uses it has no knowledge of it. What is it?" |
If the plane RIGHT over the target when the bombs are droped then the wont hit because the bombs are moving when they fall.
|
Quietus, that one took me a while...a coffin
|
Well done TIO.
"I never was, yet always will be. I am never seen, yet always come. I can carry nothing, yet hold much for some." |
Easy...tomorrow!
I have a mouth, I do not speak I have four eyes, I do not see I have a bed, I do not sleep Can you tell me who I be? With thieves I consort, With the vilest, in short I'm quite at ease in depravity, Yet all divines use me, and savants can't lose me, because I am the centre of gravity What am I? Think of words ending in GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that you use every day. If you have listened carefully I have already told you the answer. |
And one of my favourites: why are 1967 pennies worth more than 1952 pennies?
|

Sure it is more - but on $.15 more - because that is how many more 1967 is than 1952 |

Here is a good article explaining it: http://www.quinion.com/words/articles/gry.htm |
Now here is one from me :
There is a seven-letter word in the English language that contains ten words without rearranging any of its letters." What is the word? |
wow ive missed out on a few... but ive heard them all before except tios that hasnt been answered... and ive heard spived's so ill give someone else a chance... as for tios, i have no idea... maybe somethign about money or nothing or a pole (center of gravity, royal staffs, criminals with bars) but i have no idea

ahhh i hate those types
|
It's only because I enjoy crosswords (perhaps a little too much) that I got it.
Centre of, head of, tail of are all pretty standard in cryptics. |
Well done, Mathmo and BCPA!
|
It's gone quite silent in here
I can't think of a riddle atm |
whatever man!!
|
bah the only riddle out of all of these 10 pages i knew was the coffin one and got beat to it :). you folks are incredibly bright and i will continue to leech off of your knowledge to make myself sound smart when riddles come up in my conversations.
|
Ok. I have no idea how I wound up in a thread from 2003. But let's see if we can't get this going again! And if you know the answer already, let some other people have their fun!
Two bodies have I Though both joined in one The more still I stand The quicker I run. What am I? (An easy one. From the first Elder Scrolls game, I think.) |

Good answer, but nope!
|
was gonna go with river myself...?not too sure though.
new one... The begining of eternity The end of time and space The begining of every end The end of every place, What am I? quite an easy one, but this was the only one that came to mind from my school days...all I could come up with were limericks. hehehehehe |
Nope, not river. :)
I learned that riddle as: From the beginning of eternity To the end of time and space At the beginning of every end To the end of every place. |
I can get mandy's, it's the letter e. I'll think about yours more, Ishamel.
|
Ishmael:
an hourglass. |
Excellent!
Now, this next one is from a Magic (MtG) card. Thus, the answer wasn't printed, but I think I have it anyhoo. It's harder (I think). I live without food Stand without leg Wound without force And am harder to fight than to kill. |
that one is prolly easy...but for the life of me, i cant think of anything.
|
Damn, my brain's rusty. :(
|
its kinda easy, but definitely not intuitive!
|
"I live without food
Stand without leg Wound without force And am harder to fight than to kill." Time? (Probably wrong) Old one. Please don't use Google to find and post the answer. It is a perfect and famous triple pun. So many of you already know it. --- Three brothers went into business raising beef cattle. They asked Mama what to call it. She said, "Why call it the Focus Ranch, of course." Why? |
Focus Ranch. Hrm.
(Hooray for rezzing old threads!) |

I actually said the answer in my head and didn't even notice anything by it. Checked for the real answer and went, "... Damnit." :expressionless: |
I just googled it and am glad I did, I'd never have gotten this one in a million years. Spoiler: It's a bit of a groaner, but clever.
|
I've heard it before, so I didn't have to google it. It's where the sons raise meat (sun's rays meet).
Sadly I ran out of riddles long ago, so someone else can take it. |
I have always enjoyed this one but have never posted it here... so here's my riddle:
- I went to the forest and I got it - I sat down to look for it - And I took it home with me because I couldn't find it. What is it? |
