Booming sound on DVD's - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I have noticed that when watching DVD's on our "older" TV there seems to be a booming sound whenever there is backround music. I am only using the speakers on the tv itself (Sony 32" about 6 years old, big heavy old TV, works fine or I would get a flat screen)
WTF is this...
