repairing the spring for a chair seat?!
ello,
my chair seat caved in i am not sure what step to take next- the holes where the spokes were are now torn up should i take out the springs and replace them with belts? i would be very appreciative for any knowledge on what direction i should take next! |

Being particle board, your best bet is to build it up rather than try to rebuild what's ripped out. I think the easiest thing to do would be to get a piece of 2x4 and put it right below where the cross bar anchored in, and drive a few 3" wood screws through the sides into into each end. Sandwich the bar that the springs are attached to between that and a piece of 1x2 furring strip and put a wood screw through every 3 or 4 inches.
