Foot remedy? Help me, outdoorsy people.

So yesterday was gorgeous, not to rub it in. But it had been raining heavily for about four days and it was 70, sunny and breezy, so we headed to the local hiking/biking/beach city park for some cardio.
I hit the hiking trails armed (footed?) with my Adidas trail runners and not 5 minutes in, ended up knee-deep in some funktastic brown standing/run off water. One went completely down, the other just about half-way into the water.
No mocking, got enough of that yesterday by the idiot stranger with the dogs wearing cowbells (oh yes, beagles with full-on cowbells) who let me fall in since the footbridge was half-submerged and apparently palm trunks float, not sink to the bottom and indicate how deep the water is.
I didn't want to give up that early, so I ended up continuing for about 1.5 hours through the trails with one completely soaked (and squishy) shoe and one just severely damp. I checked to make sure there was no rubbing of skin or sock to avoid blisters and the like. But I noticed that my soaked foot felt a little swollen by the end of the trek and just thought that it was the shoe.
Two hours after we got home, the soles of my feet were not happy. This morning they're swollen, red and burny. Last time they were hot and burny, I tried Tiger Balm... NOT A GOOD IDEA. I checked everywhere, there's no rash or white patches, they're just on fire, red and feel almost cracked. I'm concerned about the water that I ended up in, but there's nothing wrong with the rest of my right leg that went in. I'm thinking that hopefully it's just sock-rub... hopefully.

Anyone have any remedies for this type of stuff?
It hurts to walk around barefoot or in socks.
I'm allergic to latex and rubber, so all my socks are cotton or PowerSox anyway.
And I'm all for anything that would be used to kill potential foot-funk from that nasty water, too.

I'd see a doctor. Sounds like that water had something in it that should not be applied to the skin for over an hour at a time.

Wow, I trek around quite a bit outdoors and have never had anything like that. Personally I'd be very worried it was some nasty pollution in the water, like a company dumped some dangerous chemicals or something. Cause most common fungus wouldn't grow that fast and over such a large area. I'd see a doc.

see a doc. he'll give you a topical cream most likely an anti fungal cream. i wouldnt worry too much though.

it could be just that your foot was soaked in water for far too long, hence the swelling and tender feet.

see a doc, but dont stress it noods

Wow, I've slogged through stagnant swamps and pools of human feces and never had that happen.

I have no idea what would cause that kinda immediate reaction. Contact dermatitis - GO!

Wash your paws in some anti-bacterial soap, pickin' under the toenails real good.

I'd go for a generic anti-fungal spray and some hardcore foot powder to keep 'em dry.

Spraying the outside of your trail runners with "Camp Dry" waterproof stuff is popular.

It won't waterproof your shoes, but it'll give them more of a splash bounce-off effect.

Since you probably have health insurance, I'd recommend using that too.
