Well, I really didn't expect them to tell me my future, just thought I'd try them for fun. My wife likes that sort of stuff.
Mostly wondering if any good websites to learn about Tarot. These days when I Google stuff it mostly seems to be mostly sites that are advertising. Someone needs to come up with a search like Google used to be. |

One of the best sets you can get is the Rider-Waite Deck. It is one of the oldest decks out there and alot of the illustrations on the cards represent what the card means. I recommend that deck and when you learn the cards without need for a book you can branch out to a different deck. Something pretty with dragons and fairies.
I've used one for years. Barnes and nobles has a few copies most of the time in stock or can order you one. They should be in the New Age section (right across from the Christian section which makes me laugh). Btw if you really want to get into the traditions of Tarot, they deck should be a gift to someone or be passed down by a family member. Also spells should be cast on the cards, but that's only if you practice some form of Wiccan religion. Otherwise it's great fun and I like to practice when I can on my friends. Get a book, that's what I did to learn the cards. Try to find one that focuses more on the meanings of the cards and less on the magic/magick of the cards. If you like tarot, look up stones and palm reading. Also nice to know. Come on man, I don't believe in vegetarians but I don't see a reason to bash them for it (most of the time). |

I've been waiting to respond here because I don't want to be the one and only bearer of weird/negative vibes here at tfp, but I have to say...for those of us who are "tuned in to the otherworld", you will be playing with fire, so at least be Aware. I have dabbled in All the black and white arts and got burned big time, with tarot cards. This is just a word to the wise.
PS - I wish someone had warned me - when I first opened that door to the dark arts....

A fair warning and one that should be headed, but for one just to read the cards and not try to tap into anything "otherworldly" he/she should be fine. Unless they have a high want/need to tap into something they don't understand, then they won't ever go that far. Reading the cards won't hurt you. Plus the spellbooks they sell in B&N are a joke and only for 15 year old girls who watch to much buffy/twlight.
