Um, most regular DVD players output audio in 2 channels, left and right. You'd need a Home Theater system to have it in 5 channels, where the sound is actually different from each speaker and truly "surrounds" you.

If your dvd player has 6 discrete analog channels of output and your board has 6 or more inputs that can buss to 6 outputs then you're good.
What kind of "sound desk" do you have? What kind of dvd player do you have? The question I have is: why? Why not just get a surround receiver and be done with it? Unless you're mixing for surround ... |
