Heat pump advice/knowledge required
I have in my hands 3 quotes for installation of a heat pump in my house. They are all within $300 so I am basing my choice on quality, efficiency, warranty.... The manufacturers are lennox, figidaire & goodman. Does anyone have any experience with heat pumps and know which are good or bad?

NEWBIE ALERT-------NEWBIE ALERT
Lennox, I concur. I installed and maintained heat pumps in the Air Force while in Oklahoma and New Mexico and Lennox was the one I had to perform little work on. That's a good thing. Just done expect it to work all that good when it's under 40 degrees outside. They are mainly for supplemental heating only. There, I'm not a newbie anymore. ![]()

There are many good units out there. The quality of installation, warranty, and type/manufacture of the compressor are the most important. Pay extra to get a unit with a Copeland "Compliance Scroll" compressor (vice the recipicating style) if possible. Lennox, Trane, Carrier, and Heil (Kenmores Best) are the premier brands.
