Teach me Meteorology before my Exam tomorrow morning

I've been studying for the past week, but there's so much inforamtion being crammed in my brain. Not to mention the math and other things that need to get done, like writing two essays. Anyway, the exam is on precipitation and moisture in the atmosphere. YAY!:orly: I really need to know how to big a raindrop is. Okay, it's 0.5mm and a drizzle is 0.02mm or somwthing to that deals with condensation nuclei.:rolleyes:

OK, you answered your own question. And we typically don't do your homework for you.

Do you have any actual questions that we can answer?

/bitter sarcasm

Good luck on your exam, though.

How to be a meteorologist.

#1 Look pretty.
#2 Put out for a casting director for a local news show.
#3 Read what the national weather service provides everyone for free.
#4 Profit!

One of my favorite documentary moments was on a documentary on water and when the guy went to interview some Norwegian news meteorologist, she had no idea what she was talking about and he basically said, well she looks pretty at least.

Tips for forecasting:

Get a rock from somewhere, and place it somewhere like in your yard or something!

Thats all you have to do, and your ready for forecasting!!!!!

* If it's dry ------Weather's Clear
* If it's wet -----It's Raining
* If its white ---It's Snowing
* If it's gone ---Tornado

Most of the meteorologists in my neck of the woods are men....and not attractive men, which makes #2 really, really....interesting. :hmm:

if your brain is jammed full of factoids such that you dont feel like you can lift it up and make it do things for you, then stop studying.
there is a point past which the inability to organize information makes memorizing more of it useless.
focus on your breathing for a few minutes before the exam starts.

Spoken like someone who doesn't take science exams on a curve with a given % of the class failing no matter what. :)

Now odds are this isn't quite that harsh, just because that sort of schooling is rarer these days in the age of grade inflation, but those were always fun exams.

If you are feeling stressed just take a break, do something else for some time, usually 30 mins was enough for me, and then get back to work.

Oh and make your own flash cards, I'd put about 10-20 questions on a side with the answers on the back, just making them would give you about 1/2 the material, the other 1/2 you get using them a few times.

Hey I dropped the class, but took another meteorology class and passed it only because it was space weather. I'm in my fourth semester now
