Sending food internationally

OK, this is going to seem like a weird question, but...

I want to send some chocolate to South Africa (*looks in mandy's direction*). What's the best way to go about doing that and avoid having it melt on the way there? Would also be nice if it doesn't cost too much ;)

I got a box of chocolate from Germany... best thing was good packaging, have the choclate surrounded by stuff so its not absorbing heath through the box. Not really so sure I can do anything about the melting part.

Mine made it from Frankfort to AZ in one piece and unmelted.

/wishes bags of All-Dressed Ruffles from Canada were smaller

Just make sure it's protected from the heat, and you should be set.

you need something like this to do it right with no worries.

ShaniFaye 09-26-2007 04:49 PM

not to be off topic but snowy and I share a love of all dressed ruffles....heck we've even eaten them together.

Is there a place in SA you could order it from?

SecretMethod70 09-26-2007 04:58 PM

Apparently not, otherwise mandy wouldn't need me to send it to her :p

(Butterfingers ;))

ShaniFaye 09-26-2007 05:13 PM

lol well I wasnt thinking "candy bar" when you said chocolate

snowy 09-26-2007 05:14 PM

Oooh, you should send her a bag of mini Butterfingers and some full-size ones. I prefer the little ones--they're just the right size, somehow.

xxxafterglow 09-27-2007 09:35 AM

If it's packaged well (sealed tight) sometimes your recipient can whack it in the fridge to harden it up if its melted...
Alas, I do not think Rocher and her friend Creme Egg can make it.... but the Butterfingers probably could!
