oxidizing side car mirror =( Cracked dashboard
I got in a car accident about 2 years ago and fortunately the only thing that got ruined on my car was my left side rear view mirror. The mirror functions well, except after about a 2 years the plastic is starting to oxidize. It really doesn't look right, it changed from black to almost white. Does anyone know how to keep something from oxidizing, specifically plastic car parts?
Another quick one, it seems the Arizona heat is killing my dashboard, cracks everywhere, well maybe just cracks beginning to appear! Any tips for this as well? Thanks Durr |

well for the dashboard... get one of those windshield sunshades and whenever your not driving put it in the windshield pushed all the way against the bottom so the sun doesnt get to the dashboard and that should help...
i dont really know about the mirror tho....

Get a cover or the dash,
http://204.228.150.1/products/index....%20Accessories as to the mirror..... this stuff might work, never used it.... I usually just use rubber dressing on black plastic and it works great, although thats not what its for. http://www.coatsproducts.com/detail...._id=LC-C9-16oz |

ive never cared for those dash covers... but if its already cracked that would definently hide and protect it... but if its not an eye sore you can prevent 90% of the sun exposure by just using the sunshade...

Everyone, thank you.
Ashton, I will be trying the BUMPER NU, it looks as if it may be the cure; thanks for the suggestion. Also the rubber dressing looks like it may work just as well, i'll be looking for either. After 7 years its about time I get something for the sun on the dash. Thanks for the suggestions on what works, they are appreciated. |

Locdawg,
Thanks, for the suggestion. Not to discount the other helpful posts, but I will keep an extra eye out for this stuff since it is made specifically for my problem. Again, thank you to everyone with suggestions, i've got quite an arsenal of things to try out on this problem now, which I didn't have before. |
