To get all their data sources organised in a way that is better usable for whatever the business plans on doing.
E.g. a company in advertising would need to have a clear access to data on customer trends to be able to gear its adverts towards selling to whatever target audience they needed. Or a retail store would need a way to find out what is on stock quickly and easily by staff when a customer asks if something is around. In a nutshell, business needs is what the business requires to do whatever it does well.
