embed images in body of email
I get emails from people that have pictures right in the body of the email, other times I have download an attachment. My question is using hotmail is there a way to put pictures directly in the body with text?

You can do it if you embed an image as HTML - but the image has to be resident on a server somewhere online.
In essence, you don't send the photo, you send the link to the photo, and their software uses their net connection to display the picture.

as far as I know it cannot be done with hotmail. You could use the following to link an image in your email:
PHP Code:
but I don't think that hotmail will interpret that as html...it will just stay as text.
